Thama is a highly anticipated 2025 Hindi romantic-comedy horror film and the fifth installment in the popular Maddock Supernatural Universe. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and written by Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew, and Arun Falara, the story unfolds across two timelines—modern-day Delhi and the ancient Vijayanagara Empire—blending a dark vampire narrative with elements of love, humor, and suspense.
At its heart, Thama tells a “bloody love story” featuring a stellar cast: Ayushmann Khurrana as Alok, humanity’s last hope; Rashmika Mandanna as Tadaka, a symbol of light in the shadows; Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Yakshasan, the powerful vampire king; and Paresh Rawal as Ram Bajaj Goyal, a character who always finds comedy in tragedy. The supporting cast includes Faisal Malik, Geeta Aggarwal, and cameo appearances by Varun Dhawan, with special dance numbers by Malaika Arora and Nora Fatehi.
Unlike earlier entries in the franchise, Thama leans more towards a supernatural romantic-comedy, offering a refreshing twist to the series. With its mix of dark fantasy, gripping drama, and emotional storytelling, the film promises to deliver both entertainment and intrigue.
Shot across Delhi, Mumbai, and Ooty, the film features a powerful soundtrack composed by Sachin–Jigar. The teaser, World of Thama, has already raised excitement levels, and the movie is set to release in theaters on 21 October 2025, just in time for Diwali.
