Synopsis

Made in Korea is a heartwarming, slice-of-life Tamil-Korean co-production a landmark first of its kind collaboration between Indian and South Korean cinema on Netflix.

The film stars Priyanka Mohan as Shenba, a young Tamil woman whose dream of visiting South Korea finally comes true but under deeply undesirable circumstances. World After her boyfriend’s betrayal leaves her stranded and heartbroken in the middle of Seoul, Shenba faces isolation, language barriers, and the overwhelming weight of cultural differences entirely alone.

As she struggles to adapt to life in an unfamiliar city, Shenba slowly forms unexpected friendships that help her rediscover confidence and independence. Through the warmth of new bonds, the laughter of shared cultural confusion, and the quiet resilience of a woman rebuilding herself from scratch, Shenba discovers that the greatest journey of her life was never really about the destination at all it was always about finding herself.

Director Ra. Karthik revealed that his inspiration stemmed from his fascination with the historical and cultural parallels between Tamil and Korean heritage crafting a warm, hopeful story that transcends language barriers while maintaining cultural authenticity on both sides.

The film skips a theatrical release entirely and serves as one of Netflix’s flagship Tamil offerings for 2026 with a soundtrack that blends South Indian and K-pop influences, available in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam dubs.
