Synopsis

The story centers on María José Cano (Paulina Dávila), a woman with a razor-sharp wit and a “perversely irreverent” attitude toward life. Two decades ago, María José was involved in a devastating car accident that left her confined to a wheelchair. In the immediate aftermath, overwhelmed by grief and a sense of brokenness, she made the radical decision to leave the love of her life, Esteban (Gael García Bernal), at the altar without explanation.

Now known affectionately (and ironically) by the nickname “Santita” (Little Saint), she has spent twenty years building a life defined by her refusal to be a victim. However, her carefully constructed world is upended when Esteban unexpectedly re-enters her life. His return forces María José to step out of her defensive shell and confront the “sinner” she believes she became when she abandoned him.
