Synopsis

Happy Patel is an enthusiastic, albeit consistently misguided, aspiring detective who desperately wants to follow in the footsteps of his two fathers, both of whom were elite British secret agents. After failing to make the cut for the prestigious MI7 agency, Happy discovers that his roots are actually in India. He soon finds himself assigned to a mission in Goa, which he believes is his golden ticket to proving he has what it takes to be a great spy

The assignment, which seems straightforward on the surface, turns into a chaotic nightmare. Happy is tasked with rescuing a woman being held captive by a powerful local crime lord named “Mama,” who has a bitter, inter-generational grudge against Happy’s family. As Happy stumbles through his investigation, he finds himself caught in a sprawling conspiracy involving a kidnapped scientist and a dangerous network of criminals.

The film is an unapologetically absurd, high-energy spy action-comedy that intentionally breaks away from the “macho” tropes typically seen in the genre. It focuses on the clash between Happy’s bumbling, overly optimistic nature and the gritty, dangerous reality of the criminal underworld in Goa. Throughout the madness, Happy tries to balance his earnest desire to save the day with the reality that he is often the biggest obstacle to his own success.

Ultimately, the story is a self-aware, chaotic romp that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It centers on the importance of finding one’s identity and the realization that sometimes, even if you aren’t the smoothest or most skilled spy, persistence and genuine heart can get you through the most ridiculous situations
