Synopsis
#Single (stylized as Hashtag Single) is a 2025 Telugu romantic comedy-drama that explores the frustrations and hilarities of modern dating. Produced by Geetha Arts and Kalya Films, and features Sree Vishnu in his signature high-energy comic style.
The story follows Vijay (Sree Vishnu), a cheerful bank employee who is tired of his perpetual bachelor status. Despite his best efforts and constant grooming by his friend Aravind (Vennela Kishore), Vijay has never experienced “true love.” His life takes a hopeful turn when he encounters Poorva (Ketika Sharma), a gentle and sophisticated woman. Determined to end his single streak, Vijay orchestrates various “fake-rescue” scenarios and comedic schemes to win her heart, often using trending memes and pop-culture references to make an impression.
However, the plot thickens when Harini (Ivana), a bold and mischievous young woman, enters the scene. Unlike the reserved Poorva, Harini is unstoppable and begins pursuing Vijay with intense energy, leading to a series of chaotic misunderstandings. Vijay finds himself caught in a complex love triangle where his “jugaad” methods of wooing one woman accidentally attract the other, leaving him more confused about his feelings than when he was single.
As the wedding pressure from his family mounts, Vijay is forced to navigate the thin line between a planned romantic pursuit and an unexpected emotional connection. The film uses the contrast between the two women—the nurturing Poorva and the spirited Harini—to challenge Vijay’s superficial ideas of a “perfect partner.” The humor is driven largely by the witty banter between Sree Vishnu and Vennela Kishore, who frequently break the fourth wall with references to current cinematic tropes.
The climax, which the makers described as “unpredictable and innovative,” shifts the focus from simple slapstick to a more heartfelt realization about what it truly means to be a partner. Rather than a traditional romantic ending, the film concludes by celebrating self-discovery and the idea that love cannot be engineered by a script or an app. It leaves the audience with a breezy, feel-good message about the importance of being genuine in a world obsessed with digital image and status.
