Synopsis

Hijack Season 2 is officially set to premiere on January 14, 2026. Following the massive success of the first season, Idris Elba returns as Sam Nelson for an 8-episode season that shifts the action from the skies to the ground.

The second season moves the setting to Berlin, Germany. Sam Nelson, the expert corporate negotiator who survived the Dubai-to-London flight hijacking, finds himself caught in another life-or-death crisis—this time on a Berlin underground subway train. During a busy rush hour, the train and its hundreds of commuters are taken hostage by a highly organized group.

As authorities on the surface scramble to understand the situation and prevent a city-wide disaster, Sam must once again use his unique psychological and negotiation skills from the inside. However, the stakes are different this time; early trailers suggest that investigators begin to wonder if Sam’s repeated presence at these events is a coincidence, or if he is actually involved. The season is being compared to the high-stakes energy of the movie Speed, focusing on relentless urgency and the moral dilemmas of hostage negotiation in a claustrophobic, moving environment.
