Synopsis

The story revolves around Dulla, a hardworking and simple man living in a slum who plays the dhol to provide for his small family, including his younger brother and sister, Preeti. His life is defined by humble dreams and deep sibling bonds until a horrific act of violence shatters his world. When Preeti is brutally raped and murdered by a group of powerful and influential men, Dulla’s life is split into two distinct chapters: the man he was and the man he is forced to become.

Consumed by grief and a burning desire for justice, Dulla realizes that the legal system is often a puppet in the hands of the wealthy. The perpetrators, protected by their status and political connections, believe they are untouchable. In response, Dulla discards his drumsticks for weapons, embarking on a singular, violent mission to dismantle the lives of those who destroyed his sister.

As he navigates the dark underbelly of the city, Dulla transitions from a victim to a formidable vigilante. He uses his knowledge of the streets and raw determination to track down each person involved, ignoring the warnings of the law. His path of vengeance draws the attention of the authorities, specifically leading to the invocation of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) as the scale of his retaliation grows.

The film explores the harrowing “pain of Punjab” and the desperate lengths a brother will go to when pushed beyond his breaking point. It is a gritty portrayal of revenge, highlighting the clash between a grieving man’s raw justice and a corrupt institutional framework. By the end, Dulla’s journey poses a chilling question: when the system fails to protect the innocent, is a “wrecking crew” of one the only answer left?
