Synopsis

Alice Monroe is a woman looking to turn a new leaf in her relationship with her boyfriend, Tom. Seeking to move past their long-distance lifestyle of meeting in international hotels, she suggests a romantic getaway to Paris. The trip begins with the promise of a future together, but the dream quickly dissolves into a nightmare when Tom mysteriously vanishes without a trace while they are traveling on a high-speed train bound for the south of France.

Waking up to find his seat empty and his phone lead-dead, Alice is thrust into a frantic search across a foreign landscape. Her initial pleas for help from the local French police are met with bureaucratic indifference, as she is told that adults often disappear for simple reasons like money or failed relationships. Refusing to believe Tom would simply walk away, Alice begins her own investigation, navigating the winding streets of Marseille and the scenic but treacherous coastlines of the French Riviera.

As Alice digs deeper, she realizes that her “perfect” boyfriend was living a double life. She encounters Hélène, a mysterious French woman who has been tracking Tom for months, claiming he is not who he says he is. The search transforms from a missing persons case into a high-stakes espionage thriller, as Alice uncovers a web of financial crimes, hidden identities, and a dangerous past that Tom went to extreme lengths to bury.
