Synopsis

Based on the acclaimed stage play by Saurabh Shukla, the film follows Gopal (Pankaj Kapur) and Anusuya (Dimple Kapadia), a couple who have been married for five decades. Their quiet, routine-filled life in the mountains is shattered when Anusuya decides to unburden herself of a long-buried secret.

Rather than letting the truth fade with time, the revelation leads to a “warmly chaotic” fallout. Gopal, struggling to balance his heartbreak with his dignity, decides to seek a divorce after half a century of togetherness. The story follows their journey as they navigate lawyers, bewildered children, and the realization that “honesty” doesn’t always mean the end—sometimes, it’s just a very difficult new chapter. It’s described as a “suburban noir” of the heart, blending sharp humor with deeply moving insights into how love evolves (and bruises) over time.
