Synopsis

Based on the acclaimed 2020 stage play by Cesc Gay (the director of Truman), the film explores the “deliciously awkward” dynamics of three siblings who gather for a high-stakes family meeting.

The siblings—played by a powerhouse cast of Spanish cinema veterans—reunite to decide the future of their 86-year-old father, whose behavior has become increasingly erratic and peculiar. What starts as a polite, civilized discussion about nursing homes and caregiving quickly unravels. A single ill-chosen word ignites years of suppressed sibling rivalries, hidden resentments, and long-standing tensions.
