Synopsis

Following the sudden death of her husband, Mara (Belén Cuesta) travels with her young daughter, Lide, to her family’s remote summer house in the forest. Accompanied by her brother-in-law Luis and his wife Elena, the trip is intended to be a final farewell to the property and a way to close a painful chapter of their lives. However, what begins as a somber family gathering quickly spirals into a nightmare when, after a heated argument, Lide vanishes into the dense woods without a trace.

The terror escalates almost immediately as an uncontrollable wildfire breaks out in the surrounding area, moving with lethal speed. As local authorities are forced to suspend search efforts and order an immediate evacuation, Mara refuses to abandon her daughter. In a desperate act of defiance, the family chooses to ignore the evacuation orders and plunges deeper into the burning forest, cut off from any official help and trapped between the encroaching flames and their own rising panic.

As the oxygen thins and the danger intensifies, their only hope lies with Santi, a local forest ranger who becomes their reluctant guide. But the environmental catastrophe is only half the threat; Mara soon begins to realize that the fire may be a smokescreen for a much darker truth. Suspicions mount within the group as Mara suspects that someone she trusts is lying about Lide’s disappearance, turning the survival mission into a claustrophobic psychological battleground.

By the time the fire reaches its peak, the film evolves into a race against both time and betrayal. The heat unearths long-buried family secrets and moral dilemmas, forcing Mara to decide how much she is willing to burn down to save her child. In a final, searing confrontation, the truth behind the disappearance is revealed, proving that sometimes the secrets we keep are more destructive than the inferno outside.
