Synopsis

Kalamkaval is a neo-noir crime thriller set in the early 2000s that begins with a seemingly routine police inquiry. Sub-Inspector Jayakrishnan, a dedicated officer from the Kerala Special Branch, is tasked with investigating a case of local unrest triggered by the alleged elopement of a young woman. What starts as an attempt to quell communal tension quickly spirals into a much darker discovery when inconsistencies in the case lead Jayakrishnan to uncover a disturbing pattern of missing women across the rural landscapes of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

The investigation reveals a chilling serial killer operating in the shadows, targeting vulnerable women—often divorced, widowed, or unmarried—who are isolated by society.
