Synopsis

Premachi Goshta 2 is a 2025 Marathi-language romantic drama with a touch of fantasy, directed by Satish Rajwade. A spiritual sequel to the 2013 hit Premachi Goshta.

The story revolves around Arjun Mhapuskar (Lalit Prabhakar), a man who has grown bitter and disillusioned after the collapse of his marriage. Arjun was married to his childhood best friend, Mary (Rucha Vaidya), but the relationship crumbled because Arjun could never transition his feelings from deep friendship to romantic love. Now facing a messy divorce, Arjun blames “fate” and the “divine” for his unhappiness, believing that the idea of soulmates is a lie.

At the lowest point of his life, while navigating legal proceedings, Arjun encounters two mysterious and quirky men, Aburao (Swapnil Joshi) and Baburao (Bhau Kadam). In a supernatural twist, it is revealed that these two are celestial beings—Gods in human guise—who have heard Arjun’s complaints. They decide to offer him a “second chance” to rewrite his story, allowing him to revisit a pivotal moment in his past to see if he can find happiness with his old flame, Priya (Ridhima Pandit).

As Arjun navigates this alternate reality, he begins to realize that a “perfect” life is not about the absence of conflict, but about the choices one makes. The film uses the “what-if” scenario to explore themes of regret, the complexity of modern relationships, and the realization that second chances often come with their own set of difficult conditions. Arjun must decide whether he truly wants a new life or if he needs to find closure and forgiveness in his current one.
