Synopsis

After a successful theatrical run in late 2024, the Punjabi-language romantic drama Shahkot is set to make its digital debut on the KableOne OTT platform. The film marks the Pollywood acting debut of singer Guru Randhawa.

The story follows Iqbal Singh (Guru Randhawa), a determined youth from Indian Punjab who dreams of venturing abroad to Europe to secure a better future for his family. However, his journey takes a perilous and unexpected turn when a botched migration attempt leads him across the border into Pakistan.

Mistaken for a local because of his name, Iqbal finds refuge in the haveli of Abbaji (Raj Babbar), a powerful and influential politician. While hiding his true identity to evade the authorities, Iqbal forms an unlikely bond with Abbaji’s daughter, Marvi (Isha Talwar), and a loyal friend, Sharafat (Gurshabad Singh). As love blooms in the shadow of cross-border tensions, Iqbal is caught between his desperate desire to return home and the genuine warmth he finds in a land he was taught to fear.
