Synopsis

After a successful theatrical run starting in late 2025, Tere Ishk Mein made its digital debut on Netflix. Directed by Aanand L. Rai, the film is a spiritual sequel to his 2013 cult hit Raanjhanaa, exploring a similarly volatile and “all-consuming” romance.

The story follows Shankar (Dhanush), a hot-headed Indian Air Force pilot grounded for insubordination at a base in Leh. To be cleared for duty, he must undergo a mental health evaluation by Mukti (Kriti Sanon), a psychology research scholar. The meeting reignites a turbulent history between them; years earlier in college, Mukti had used Shankar as the subject for her thesis on non-violence, only for him to fall hopelessly in love while she saw him as an experiment.

Now reunited amid simmering border tensions, they are forced to confront unhealed wounds, betrayal, and a class divide that remains as sharp as ever. The film reaches a tragic climax where duty and past love collide, ultimately testing whether Shankar can find redemption through surrender or if his passion will lead to his final destruction.
