Synopsis

The fourth season of the hit Netflix series Bridgerton is set to premiere in early 2026. This season shifts the spotlight to the artistic and “bohemian” second son, Benedict Bridgerton, as he embarks on a “Cinderella-inspired” journey to find his true match.

Benedict Bridgerton has long avoided the pressures of the “marriage mart,” preferring his independence and artistic pursuits. However, his life changes drastically at his mother’s grand masquerade ball when he meets a mysterious “Lady in Silver.” Although they share an immediate and magical connection, she vanishes before he can learn her identity, leaving him obsessed with finding the woman who stole his heart behind a mask.

Unknown to Benedict, the mysterious woman is actually Sophie Baek, the illegitimate daughter of a nobleman who has been forced into a life of servitude by her cold stepmother, Lady Araminta. Sophie managed to sneak into the ball for one night of freedom, but her reality is far from the glitz of Mayfair. When fate brings them back together in the “real world,” Benedict encounters Sophie in her role as a maid, never realizing she is the same woman he has been searching for.

The season explores the deep class divide of Regency-era London, as Benedict must choose between the “fantasy” of the lady from the ball and his growing feelings for the resourceful, headstrong maid in front of him. Meanwhile, the rest of the Bridgerton siblings navigate their own new chapters, including Penelope and Colin adjusting to life as a public couple and Francesca settling into her new marriage in Scotland.
