Synopsis

French comedy series Flunked (originally titled Recalé) is set to premiere globally on Netflix.

The story follows Eddy (Alexandre Kominek), a brilliant but delinquent math prodigy and professional conman who finds himself in legal hot water. To avoid a lengthy jail sentence, he strikes a plea deal with a tenacious police officer: he must go undercover for three weeks as a teacher at a high-stakes high school.

His mission is to identify and track the child of a notorious criminal mastermind who is believed to be a student at the school. However, Eddy quickly realizes that navigating the social hierarchy of Gen Z students and the exhausted faculty is far more difficult than any heist he’s ever pulled. The 8-episode series is described as a high-energy “Eddie Murphy-style” comedy that blends “fish-out-of-water” humor with a genuine look at the realities of the modern education system.
