Synopsis

The story leaps forward into the alternate-history 2010s (beginning roughly in 2012), several years after the high-stakes “Goldilocks” asteroid heist. Happy Valley has transformed from a struggling outpost into a sprawling, thriving Martian colony housing thousands of residents.

However, the “new frontier” is no longer just about survival—it’s about sovereignty. As the Martian settlers begin to see themselves as “Martians” rather than employees or citizens of Earth, the nations of Earth demand stricter law and order on the Red Planet. This sets the stage for a massive interplanetary cold war, where the struggle for Martian independence clashes with Earth’s desperate need for the resources found in the asteroid belt.

Beyond Season 5, Apple has officially announced a spinoff series titled Star City. This parallel series will explore the same alternate timeline but from the perspective of the Soviet space program, detailing the lives of the cosmonauts, engineers, and intelligence officers behind the Iron Curtain.
