Synopsis

The fifth season picks up several years after the high-stakes “Goldilocks” asteroid heist that concluded Season 4. The Martian settlement, Happy Valley, has transformed from a struggling research outpost into a massive, thriving colony housing thousands of residents. Mars is no longer just a frontier; it is a burgeoning civilization with its own economy, culture, and growing sense of independence from Earth.

However, this growth brings intense new friction. As the nations of Earth—led by a frustrated NASA and Roscosmos—demand stricter law and order on the Red Planet to protect their investments, the “Martians” begin to push back. The season explores the escalating political and social tensions between the people who actually live on Mars and the terrestrial governments that still claim ownership over their lives and resources.

On the scientific front, the focus shifts toward deeper space exploration. Utilizing the resources captured from the asteroid, missions are now being planned to reach even further into the solar system, with a particular eye on the moons of Jupiter.
