Synopsis

Released on ZEE5, Kaalipotka is an unapologetically bold Bengali crime-thriller. Directed by Abhirup Ghosh, the series centers on four women from the underprivileged sections of society whose lives take a dark, chaotic turn following a single freak accident.

Four friends—Srima, Rani, Rinku, and Minoti—find their bond tested when Minoti’s husband dies in a sudden, accidental manner. What begins as a desperate attempt to handle the body soon spirals into a perilous game of survival. Caught in a “trap” of tight lanes and quick gossip, the women inadvertently become entangled in a dark web of lies.

As they navigate a rigged system and flee from the police, they find themselves hunted by a vengeful and dangerous ex-convict named Rana. The series explores themes of agency, feminine power, and the “messy” reality of friendships under extreme pressure, blending high-tension action with a sharp edge of dark comedy.
