Synopsis

After a critically acclaimed first season in 2023, the gritty Punjabi crime procedural Kohrra is returning to Netflix with a brand-new mystery.

When a woman named Preet (Pooja Bhamrah) is found brutally murdered in her brother’s barn, the investigation falls to ASI Amarpal Garundi (Barun Sobti). Now transferred to a new station, Garundi must navigate a fresh power dynamic under his new superior, Dhanwant Kaur (Mona Singh), a senior officer grappling with her own emotional fatigue and unresolved grief.

As they peel back the layers of the case, they uncover a disturbing web of family secrets, land disputes, and the “silences” that define life in the Punjab hinterland. Much like the first season, the investigation serves as a mirror to the detectives’ own lives; while they hunt for the killer, the walls they have built to escape their pasts begin to crumble, forcing them to confront their own demons amidst the dense winter fog.
