Synopsis

Following the success of the 2023 film, the fan-favorite Saudi anthology returns to its original roots with AlKhallat+: Desert Rules (also known as AlKhallat+: The Series). The four-episode series is scheduled to premiere globally on Netflix.

The narrative begins with a high-profile crisis: the abduction of Ruhani, the daughter of an Indian diplomat, and Jhimli, the daughter of a domestic helper, from a farmhouse in Bulandshahr. SSP Shivani Shivaji Roy (Rani Mukerji), now working with the National Investigation Agency (NIA), is brought in to lead the manhunt. What initially appears to be a standard kidnapping for ransom quickly reveals a much more sinister pattern when Shivani discovers that 93 young girls, all aged between eight and nine, have vanished under mysterious circumstances within just three months.

As Shivani digs deeper, she uncovers a terrifying and highly organized network led by a ruthless woman known as Amma (Mallika Prasad). Unlike previous antagonists in the series, Amma operates a vast “beggar mafia” that uses the children not just for trafficking, but for something far more clinical. The investigation leads Shivani to a pharmaceutical conspiracy where the girls are being used as involuntary test subjects for a mutated HPV virus to accelerate cervical cancer drug trials.

The stakes become personal when Amma targets Shivani’s own family, leading to a temporary suspension of the fearless cop. Undeterred, Shivani forms an independent team with a young, ambitious constable named Fatima (Janki Bodiwala). The pursuit of justice takes them across international borders to Colombo, Sri Lanka, where the mastermind behind the medical experiments, Ramanujan (Prajesh Kashyap), is hiding behind a veil of corporate and political protection.

The film culminates in a violent and emotionally charged showdown in the Sundarbans and Sri Lanka. Shivani must race against time to dismantle the facility before the remaining girls are “disposed of” to hide the evidence. The finale reinforces the franchise’s “eye for an eye” brand of justice, as Shivani ensures that those who profited from the children’s suffering face a poetic and permanent reckoning.
