Synopsis

The series follows six PhD students who travel to the remote village of Sonamukhi during the Durga Puja festival. Their mission is academic: to research the life of Nishigandha, a forgotten muse of the legendary Rabindranath Tagore. However, the students soon find that the village is gripped by a terrifying local legend—the curse of the Nishi.

As they delve deeper into their research, the line between history and horror begins to blur. They discover that in Sonamukhi, music is not a healer but a summons for death. Local lore warns that every song invites a malevolent spirit, and the students realize their presence has awakened a dormant tragedy. One of the students, Titli, finds herself at the center of the mystery as past and present horrors collide, forcing the group to fight for their lives against an ancient terror that haunts the night.

The 6-episode season is a “slow-burn” psychological horror that uses the atmospheric setting of rural Bengal to build a sense of dread. By the time the final episode, “The Farewell,” concludes, the survivors are forced to confront the dark truth of what really happened to Nishigandha and why the village remains trapped in a cycle of musical terror.
