Synopsis

Shabad – Reet Aur Riwaaz is a poignant Hindi original series that delves into the delicate balance between cultural inheritance and personal dreams.

Rooted in the heartland of Punjab, the series follows Ghuppi Singh (Mihir Ahuja), a 16-year-old boy struggling with a chronic stammer. Ghuppi finds his only sense of true freedom on the football field, but his passion puts him at odds with his father, Harminder Singh (Suvinder Vicky). A respected corporate worker and a revered Ragi singer, Harminder is determined to see his son uphold the family’s sacred legacy of performing devotional music (Gurbani Shabad).

As the discipline of Riyaz (practice) clashes with Ghuppi’s athletic aspirations, the household becomes a battlefield of faith, expectation, and silent rebellion. The story sensitively examines whether legacy is something we are born into or something we choose, ultimately exploring if empathy can bridge the gap where authority fails.
