Synopsis

Set approximately one year after the events of The Clone Wars (following Order 66 and the rise of the Galactic Empire), the story follows the former Sith Lord, Maul, as he goes into hiding. Rather than fading into obscurity, Maul views the transition of power in the galaxy as a strategic opportunity to rebuild his shattered criminal empire from the shadows. He chooses the neon-drenched, cyberpunk-style planet of Janix—a world currently operating outside of Imperial control—as his base of operations

The narrative unfolds as a tense, noir-inspired crime thriller. Maul’s ambitions are challenged by Detective Brander Lawson, a local “space cop” determined to bring him down, and by a young, struggling Jedi Padawan named Devon Izara, who is hiding with her master in the city’s underbelly. Maul, ever the manipulator, sees Devon as a potential new piece on his board, attempting to lure her into his orbit by challenging her beliefs and loyalties.

As the story progresses, the pressure intensifies when Imperial forces begin to turn their gaze toward Janix, threatening the delicate balance of the world’s criminal syndicates. The show explores the slow, suffocating expansion of the Empire and the desperate measures those in the “gray areas” of the galaxy must take to resist it. It is a story of strategy, shifting allegiances, and the dark determination of a villain attempting to rise once more as a true master of the shadows
