Synopsis

It is now 1994 in Framingham, Massachusetts, and the “moment of fame” for Ted the talking bear has officially passed. He is back to living a relatively quiet life in a working-class Boston home with his best friend, the socially awkward but likable 17-year-old John Bennett. This season specifically follows the duo as they navigate the chaotic milestones of their senior year of high school.

Life inside the Bennett household remains as loud and dysfunctional as ever. John’s father, Matty, continues to rule the house as a blustering, blue-collar patriarch who hates having his authority challenged. This often leads to hilarious, high-volume clashes with John’s cousin Blaire, an outspoken and liberal college student who isn’t afraid to call out her traditional-minded relatives.

In the middle of this domestic storm is Susan, John’s mother, who remains pathologically sweet and selfless. While she does her best to keep the family together, Ted and John are usually busy getting into trouble. From senior year antics to experimental “adventures,” Ted proves that while he might be a terrible influence, he is a fiercely loyal “thunder buddy” for life.

The new season promises a mix of crude humor and heartfelt moments as the boys face the reality of growing up. One highly anticipated highlight includes a Dungeons & Dragons-themed episode where the group gets caught up in a high-stakes tabletop campaign. As always, the series explores the bond between a boy and his bear against the backdrop of a 90s family sitcom.
