Synopsis
The Audacity is a razor-sharp, darkly comedic dissection of Silicon Valley’s most dangerous delusions — a world where billion-dollar egos, ethical bankruptcy, and messianic self-belief collide in spectacular fashion. Set inside the bubble of Silicon Valley, the series takes on the warped dreams, outsized egos, and ethical lapses of the self-styled inventors of the future – a world of jaded billionaires, psychiatrist-gurus, bio-hacked tech bros, AI labs, and disillusioned teens being optimized in elite private schools.
At the centre of this world is Duncan Park – an audacious data-mining CEO who strives to turn insight and influence into profit and power, determined to become a titan of tech rising above the other bored billionaires who fancy themselves disruptors. Standing beside him and perhaps against him is Dr. JoAnne Felder, a self-serving “performance psychologist” whose therapeutic relationship with Duncan is anything but conventional or ethical.
A self-appointed “inventor of the future” tech CEO and his self-serving “performance psychologist” are engulfed in a scandal sparked by the exploitation of personal data, forcing both of them to confront the consequences of building an empire on manipulation, surveillance, and unchecked ambition.
The eight-episode series is a dark comedy and tech-industry drama all at once following its powerful data-mining CEO and the chaotic ecosystem of characters around him as they navigate the ambitions, ethics, and personal implications of contemporary tech culture. It is a searing, brilliantly observed satire of an industry that sold the world the dream of connection – and quietly monetized every last moment of it.
