Synopsis

The Beauty is a high-concept sci-fi body horror series from Ryan Murphy, set to premiere on January 21, 2026. It will be available on Hulu (via FX on Hulu) and Disney+ internationally.

The series is set in a world obsessed with physical perfection. A mysterious, sexually transmitted virus known as “The Beauty” begins to spread, which has a startling effect: it makes anyone infected incredibly beautiful, fit, and youthful. However, this perfection comes with a terrifying cost. As international supermodels and “beautiful” people begin dying in gruesome, unexplained ways, it becomes clear that the virus is eventually fatal.

FBI Agents Cooper Madsen and Jordan Bennett are assigned to investigate these mysterious deaths. Their journey takes them across the globe—from the high-fashion runways of Paris to the streets of New York—as they try to find the source of the epidemic. They soon discover that the virus wasn’t a natural accident but was engineered by a shadowy tech billionaire known as “The Corporation.”

The show serves as a dark social commentary on “Ozempic culture” and the extreme lengths people will go to for aesthetic perfection. While the world descends into a panic over the virus, the Corporation will stop at nothing, including using a lethal enforcer called “The Assassin,” to protect their trillion-dollar empire. It is a gritty thriller that asks: what are you willing to sacrifice to be perfect?
