Synopsis

The Boyfriend Season 2 is the highly anticipated return of Japan’s first same-sex reality dating series. After the massive global success of the first season, the show is moving from the sunny beaches of the first season to a beautiful, snowy winter setting.

The new season relocates the iconic “Green Room” house to the scenic, snow-covered landscapes of Hokkaido. Ten new young men from diverse backgrounds move into the house together for roughly two months. Against the backdrop of the quiet winter, the series focuses on the slow-blooming connections, honest conversations, and the emotional growth that happens when these men live under one roof.

As in the first season, the participants will work together to operate a Coffee Truck—this time with a “peppermint” theme to match the winter vibes. Through their shifts on the truck and their time in the house, the men navigate the complexities of romance and friendship. The show is celebrated for its gentle, “slow-burn” pace, prioritizing authentic human connection over the high-intensity drama typical of Western reality dating shows.
