Synopsis

The grand finale of Italy’s most stylish legal drama is almost here! The Law According to Lidia Poët: Season 3 (the final season).

Picking up in April 1887, the third season finds Lidia (Matilda De Angelis) at a critical turning point. Her brother, Enrico, has transitioned into a political role as a member of Parliament, tirelessly working behind the scenes to pass a law that would finally allow women and specifically Lidia to be officially admitted to the Bar. While the promise of professional legitimacy is closer than ever, Lidia remains as impatient and rebellious as ever, refusing to stay in the shadows while the men in Rome debate her future.

The emotional and legal stakes reach a fever pitch when Lidia’s closest friend, Grazia Fontana, is arrested and accused of murdering her husband. This isn’t just another “case of the week”; it is a deeply personal battle that forces Lidia to argue the concept of self-defense for an abused woman before an entirely male jury. The trial becomes a sensational national scandal, putting Lidia on a direct collision course with her own partner, prosecutor Pierluigi Fourneau (Gianmarco Saurino), who is leading the case against Grazia.

The tension in the courtroom is mirrored by the return of a familiar face from her past: the charismatic journalist Jacopo Barberis (Eduardo Scarpetta). Back in Turin to cover the trial of the century, Jacopo’s presence reignites the unresolved romantic spark between him and Lidia. As she fights for her friend’s life and her own career, Lidia is finally forced to confront her heart and decide between the stable, albeit complicated, relationship with Fourneau and the undeniable, adventurous connection she has always shared with Jacopo.
