Synopsis

Wonder Pets: In the City is a delightful, colourful, and musically rich animated preschool series a charming spin-off of the beloved original Wonder Pets! franchise.

The series continues to follow the musical adventures of three heroic classroom pets who live in a New York City kindergarten. By day, Izzy (the Guinea Pig), Tate (the Snake), and Zuri (the Bunny) appear to be ordinary animals, but when the “Flyphone” rings, they transform into a specialized rescue team. Traveling across the globe in their eco-friendly “Jetcar,” the trio uses the power of music and “mini-opera” to help animals in distress, proving that no problem is too big when you work together.

Season 2 expands on the show’s “urban takeover” theme, introducing even more diverse environments and unique animal friends. The narrative remains focused on curiosity-driven problem-solving, with the team facing challenges that require them to combine their distinct talents. Whether they are rescuing a lost creature in a bustling city park or helping an animal navigate a tricky global landscape, the core message remains the same: “What’s gonna work? Teamwork!”

Each of the 13 new episodes is designed to celebrate friendship and the beauty of unique differences. The stories often incorporate valuable life lessons, such as overcoming biases a theme famously explored in the first season when other animals had to learn that Tate being a snake didn’t mean he was “sinister.” The new season promises more of these heartwarming emotional arcs, wrapped in high-quality “photo-puppetry” animation that honors the look of the original 2006 Nickelodeon classic.
